5Know then in your heart that, aas a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.

2 Samuel 7:14

Proverbs 13:24

24 dWhoever spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
Or  who loves him disciplines him early

Proverbs 19:18

18 fDiscipline your son, for there is hope;
do not set your heart on gputting him to death.

15Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but hthe rod of discipline drives it far from him.

Hebrews 12:9-11

9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to mthe Father of spirits nand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, othat we may share his holiness. 11 pFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields qthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
